Authorities in Paterson are searching for suspects in two separate overnight shooting that left three people injured in the city.
According to reports, police responded to the area of 12th Avenue and East 23rd Street just before 3 a.m. for a report of shots fired.
Responding officers established a crime scene but no victim. Shortly after, officers were called to a Lake Street home basement, where a 22-year-old man ran to after he was shot.
The man told police, he was approached by two men, as he stood outside a vehicle on 12th Avenue - who demanded his belongings before shooting him in the leg. The victim was transported to St. Josephs Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Later that morning, police were called to the area of 10th Avenue and East 24th Street around 5 a.m. for a report of shots fired.
At the scene, officers found two men were told police that they were outside a house party when they were approached by a group of men - five to seven – who demanded their belongings after displaying a handgun. Shots rang out, injuring both victims in the legs.
Both males were transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center for treatment.
