Authorities in Jersey City are investigating two separate shootings that caused injuries in the city late last night and early this morning.
In the first shooting incident, hospital officials at Jersey City Medical Center contacted authorities when a male victim walked into the emergency room suffering a gunshot wound to the face shortly before midnight.
The man was immediately admitted into surgery where his injury was not reported to be life threatening.
Police searched the area of Ocean Ave. and Ege Ave. for evidence and possible sell casings.
The shooting is under investigation.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Orient Ave., police responded to reports of multiple rounds of gunfire that rang out.
Units arriving to the scene located a male vicim bleeding from the leg after being struck at least two times by apparent gunfire. The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was expected to survive his injuries.
There were no reports of arrests in either shooting scene.
