Man Walks into Paterson Hospital Suffering a Gunshot Wound to the Head; One Dead in Separate Shooting

A crime scene has been established in the 600 block of Main Street for an investigation regarding a early morning shooting that left a man injured in Paterson.

St. Josephs Hospital officials contacted authorities when a male victim walked into the hospital at around 4:30 a.m. suffering a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

The uncooperative victim reportedly told police that he was shot by at least one assailant several blocks away on Main Street before running to the hospital.

The victim was immediately admitted for treatment where his injuries was not reported to be life threatening.

Police setup a crime scene in the area where they searched for a Hispanic male suspect who was last seen wearing a red colored jacket.

There were no arrest reported.

In a separate incident, police responding to a Shotsspotter alert at around 11:30 p.m. located a male victim in the 100 block of Montgomery Street unconscious and unresponsive in the 100 block of Montgomery Street.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The hudson County Prosecutor's Office are investigating.
