Authorities reportedly recovered a handgun at the scene of a violent shooting that happened late last night in Jersey City.
Reports of shots fired in the area of Johnston Ave. at Garrabrandt Street (near Light Rail Station) sent several police units to the scene where they found a male victim suffering injury from apparent gunfire.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center reportedly suffering a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
There were no reports of arrests.
The victim's injuries were not immediately reported to be life threatening as authorities launched an investigation into the motive for the shooting.
