Armed Men Exchange Gunfire from Vehicles in Paterson

A barrage of gunfire that erupted in a neighborhood in Paterson has police investigating.

Police responded to several 911 calls from residents complaining of shots fired in the area of 32nd Street and 18th Ave. shortly before 1 a.m.

Officers arrived to the scene a short time later to find multiple shell casings on the ground. A thorough search of the area had police locate two vehicles struck by gunfire.

A witness that was in the area reported seeing two vehicles pull up, then began to exchange several rounds of gunfire before they both sped away from the scene.

There were no injuries immediately reported.
