There is a police investigation underway in the at a location in the city's North Ward after reports of shots fired connected on one person a short time ago.
Hospital Officials at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville contacted police when a victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg arrived at the hospital at around 4:35 p.m.
The victim (who is reported to be around the age of 15-years-old) told authorities that the gunshot injury happened in the area of Summer Ave. near Chester Ave.
It is not immediately known who transported the victim to the hospital at this time.
Police are canvassing the area and setup a crime scene where the shooting is believed to have occurred.
