Police are on the scene of a shooting that has occurred in the city's South Ward a short time ago.
Gunfire rang out in the 200 block of Renner Ave. shortly before 2 p.m. sending police to the scene where they located a male victim who was suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm.
The victim was transported to University Hospital a short time ago.
The victim reported to police that the shooting happened during a home invasion attempt by at least one unidentified suspect.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway.
