Man Injured in Newark Shooting

Officials at the University Hospital alerted authorities when a male victim suffering a gunshot injury walked into the hospital early this morning. 

The victim entered the hospital's emergency room shortly before 6 a.m. bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound according to officials. 

Police immediately began a search in the the areas of 18th Ave. when the victim reported that gunfire rang out near the Applebees restaurant. The victim reported not being familiar with the area and visited the city to see friends. The man's injuries were not considered life threatening. 

In an unrelated incident, police responded to the hospital at around 10:30 p.m. Friday evening after a male victim suffering a gunshot injuries was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle. It is not known where the man was shot at but his injuries were not considered life threatening.
