Three Injured in Overnight Shootings in Newark

Newark New Jersey

An investigation is underway into a shooting that left two people injured overnight in the city.

Multiple rounds of gunfire erupted in the 90's block of Broadway shortly before 1 a.m. sending several police units to the scene where they found two people suffering non-life threatening gunshot wounds at that location.

EMS transported both victims to University Hospital in Newark where they were released a short time later after receiving treatment for a leg injury and a graze wound.

A dark colored vehicle (possibly a BMW) was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

Shortly before 1 a.m., University Hospital officials reported a male victim suffering injury from gunfire that was self-transported to the emergency room.

It is not immediately known if the victim was shot at the Broadway shooting scene.
