An investigation is underway into a shooting that happened in the city a short time ago.
Police responded to the area of 19th Street and 15th Ave. shortly before 8:30 p.m. on reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police found evidence of a shooting but no victims at the scene. Two people were transported by private vehicle to University Hospital suffering critical injuries a short time later. The vehicle was struck several times by gunfire.
Police began a search for a green four door vehicle left the scene immediately after the shooting.
There is an active crime scene and investigation underway at the hospital and on South 19th Street.
UPDATE 5:10 a.m. The victims were a male and a female both shot multiple times (3). The female victim reportedly suffered injury to the head and arm. The male victim has reportedly been injured by gunfire several times in the past 60 days.
