Three Men Hospitalized After Gunfire Erupts on Street in Newark

An active and ongoing investigation is underway into a shooting that left three people wounded on a Newark street Thursday night.

According to information released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., police responded to South 11th Street near Clinton Avenue at approximately 7:03 p.m. following reports of gunfire.

 

When officers arrived, they located three adult males suffering from gunshot wounds.

 

The victims were transported to University Hospital for treatment. Authorities said all three were reportedly in stable condition.

 

Police have not released information regarding a possible suspect or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

 

The incident remains under investigation.
