Police in Nutley are investigating an attempted residential burglary that was interrupted by officers early Monday morning.
According to preliminary information, at approximately 2:44 a.m., a Nutley Police unit encountered a burglary attempt reportedly in progress at a home on Chestnut Street.
Multiple males reportedly fled from the residential property and entered a waiting white Dodge Charger before leaving the area.
Authorities later determined that the Dodge Charger was reported stolen and had multiple occupants inside.
Initial reports indicated that a Porsche and BMW were parked in the driveway of the targeted residence.
It was not immediately clear whether the suspects were attempting to enter the home, steal either vehicle, or both.
No injuries were immediately reported.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional information is expected from Nutley Police.
