Bloomfield Police reported multiple shoplifting incidents at a Franklin Street Marshalls in late August, resulting in the arrests of three individuals while detectives continue investigating another theft at the store.
According to information released by Bloomfield Police, officers responded to Marshalls at 8-12 Franklin Street on August 25 after receiving a report of shoplifting.
Police said Michael Cruz, 31, of Belleville, allegedly took sneakers and jeans from the store and left without paying. The merchandise was valued at $147.97.
Officers located Cruz nearby and allegedly found him in possession of the merchandise. He was arrested and transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be charged accordingly.
Police responded to the same Marshalls later that day for another reported shoplifting incident.
According to investigators, a woman allegedly removed anti-shoplifting sensors from two handbags before leaving the store without paying. 
The handbags were valued at $79.98. No arrest was immediately reported in that case.
Two days later, on August 27, officers were again called to the Franklin Street Marshalls for another shoplifting report.
Police said Amina Nobles, 40, of Newark, and Marteka Fleming allegedly removed anti-shoplifting sensors from various clothing items before leaving the store without paying for merchandise valued at $218.93.
Officers located the women nearby and placed both under arrest.
They were transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing.
Police are now investigating whether Nobles may also be connected to the unresolved August 25 handbag theft.
Authorities have not announced additional charges against Nobles in connection with that incident.
All charges are accusations, and those charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
