Authorities in Newark are working to determine where a shooting occurred after a wounded man was dropped off at University Hospital early Monday morning.
Police were notified shortly before 3:45 a.m. after the male victim arrived at the hospital suffering from four gunshot wounds to the chest.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was dropped off at the emergency department by a female driver who reportedly left the hospital shortly afterward.
The location where the shooting occurred remained unknown as police worked to establish a crime scene and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim’s condition was not immediately available.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
