A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in Trenton late Sunday night, prompting an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and Trenton Police Department.
According to information released by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Trenton police responded to the 600 block of Whittaker Avenue at approximately 11:38 p.m. Sunday, August 23, after receiving reports of a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers arrived and found the victim unresponsive.
Police immediately began CPR before he was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of his family.
No arrests have been reported, and the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
