A Toms River man has been sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison following a road rage confrontation in Atlantic City in which authorities said he threatened to kill another driver and the victim’s dog.

According to information released by Atlantic County officials, Superior Court Judge Christine Smith sentenced 29-year-old Frank Marin on Tuesday, August 18, after he pleaded guilty to third-degree terroristic threats.

The case stemmed from a September 12, 2025 incident on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Atlantic City Police responded after the victim reported stopping his vehicle to allow an ambulance to cross an intersection.

Authorities said Marin, driving a white Nissan Altima, allegedly ran a red light and nearly struck the victim’s vehicle.

The two motorists later confronted each other on MLK Boulevard, where the victim told Marin that he had nearly hit his vehicle.

As the victim attempted to leave, authorities said Marin pulled alongside the passenger side and began making threats, allegedly telling the motorist that he would kill him and his dog.

Officials said Marin then retrieved a Taser from his vehicle and approached the victim’s car. The victim moved his vehicle forward and collided with Marin’s Nissan.

Marin then returned to his vehicle and drove away.

Marin was ultimately charged in connection with the confrontation and later pleaded guilty to terroristic threats, resulting in Tuesday’s three-year state prison sentence.
