Police Investigating Overnight Shooting That Left Victim Severely Injured in Jersey City

Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Jersey City that left one person with life-threatening injuries early Wednesday morning.

According to preliminary information, officers were dispatched to the area of 22 Fulton Avenue at approximately 1:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a person who had been shot.

 

When officers arrived, they located a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest. 

The victim was reported to be in traumatic arrest and was rushed from the scene to Jersey City Medical Center for emergency treatment.

 

Authorities have not officially confirmed the victim’s condition, and it remains unclear whether the injuries proved fatal.

 

The circumstances leading up to the shooting, as well as a possible motive, remain under active investigation. 

No additional information, including any suspect information, was immediately available.
