A Sicklerville man is facing attempted murder charges after authorities say a shooting in Winslow Township left another man critically injured.

According to a statement released by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Winslow Township Police Department, 33-year-old Jermine Jones was charged with first-degree attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault following a June 12 shooting on the 500 block of Chews Landing Road.

Police responded to the area at approximately 4:30 p.m. and located a 33-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, who investigators said was acquainted with Jones, was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition.

During the investigation, detectives identified two separate crime scenes, suggesting more than one person had been shot.

Authorities later learned Jones had been transported to a hospital in Philadelphia with a gunshot wound. Investigators recovered a .45-caliber handgun at the location where Jones was found.

Detectives determined Jones was responsible for shooting the victim.

The circumstances surrounding how Jones sustained his gunshot wound remain under investigation.

Jones was taken into custody at the Philadelphia hospital and is being held pending extradition to New Jersey.

In a separate incident, detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 19-year-old man critically injured Wednesday night in Winslow Township.

Authorities said officers responded to Locust Court shortly before 10 p.m. and found the victim inside a vehicle that had crashed into an unoccupied parked car.

The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.

No arrests have been announced in that case, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
