Gunfire Erupts from Vehicle, Causes Ambulance in Newark to Crash

Gunfire erupted from a vehicle that fired multiple rounds at another vehicle, causing the ambulance to crash into a tree. 

Police responded to reports of a ambulance crash that happened on Chancellor Ave. and Aldine shortly before 8 p.m.

Upon arrival to the scene, authorities found evidence that the ambulance was caught in the middle of gunfire near Crescent and Chancellor Ave. when a dark colored Taurus began to open fire on a green minivan according to witnesses in the area. 

One person inside the ambulance was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

It is not immediately clear if the injured was struck by gunfire or sustained injury from the collision with the tree.
