A Mercer County woman has been sentenced to state prison after admitting to leading police on a high-speed pursuit in Atlantic County.

According to Atlantic County prosecutors, Bobbyjean Orak, 31, of Hamilton Township, Mercer County, was sentenced on June 5 by Superior Court Judge Joseph Levin to three years in New Jersey State Prison.
The charges stem from an incident on July 24, 2024, when officers with the Absecon Police Department observed a Nissan Sentra traveling approximately 35 miles per hour over the speed limit on Absecon Boulevard.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle by activating emergency lights and sirens, but authorities said the driver ignored the signals and dramatically increased speed in an effort to flee.
Investigators noted that the vehicle’s windows were down, allowing the officer to obtain a description of the driver. After checking the vehicle’s registration, police identified the driver as Orak.
Absecon officers later contacted the Hamilton Police Department, where authorities reported receiving multiple calls from South Jersey law enforcement agencies regarding similar incidents involving Orak and the same vehicle.

On February 12, 2026, Orak pleaded guilty to third-degree eluding.
