The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified of a shooting incident that left one person seriously injured early Sunday morning in the City of Passaic.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. near Monroe Street and Pacific Street. Police were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of an injured person.
When officers arrived, they located an unidentified male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was provided emergency medical treatment at the scene before being transported to an area hospital.
Authorities said the victim is currently believed to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A large crime scene was established in the neighborhood as investigators worked to determine the motive behind the shooting and identify the individual or individuals responsible.
The incident remains under active and ongoing investigation. No arrests have been announced, and no additional information was immediately released by authorities.
