Authorities in Newark are investigating a late-night shooting that left a man injured in the city’s West Ward.
Police were dispatched to Isabella Avenue just before 10:45 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment. As of early Saturday morning around 4:30 a.m., no update on his condition had been released.
Newark’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and is leading the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not yet determined a motive.
