According to information released by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Christopher Piccioni, 35, was sentenced on Monday, April 27, 2026, to five years in New Jersey State Prison for his role in bringing contraband into the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Authorities said that between October 2023 and March 2024, Piccioni, while employed as a corrections officer, smuggled multiple packages into the jail containing nicotine products, narcotics, and cell phones.

The items were intended for inmate Dion Robinson.

Investigators determined that the packages were supplied to Piccioni by Robinson’s girlfriend, Qydreia Smith, who paid him several thousand dollars per delivery as part of the scheme.

All three individuals were charged in connection with the conspiracy. On December 9, 2025, Piccioni pleaded guilty to second-degree conspiracy to commit official misconduct.
