Police: Route 22 Carjacking in Union Township Not Believed to Be Random

Police in Union Township are investigating a reported carjacking that was reported along a busy stretch of Route 22 Friday evening.

According to preliminary information, officers were dispatched to the area of 2360 Route 22 after receiving reports of a carjacking in progress.

 

When police arrived, they learned that a gray Honda had been taken by a suspect reportedly armed with a weapon.

 

The  suspect fled the scene following the incident. No injuries were reported.

 

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

 

Union Township officials indicated that, at this time, they do not believe the incident to be random. No additional details have been released.
