Authorities in Union are investigating a serious motor vehicle crash that left a child with life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning.

According to information released by the Union Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 8:58 a.m. at the intersection of Morris Avenue and Kean Drive.
Preliminary findings indicate that a white Toyota traveling westbound on Morris Avenue swerved to avoid a silver Honda that was making a left turn onto Kean Drive.
The Toyota then struck a telephone pole head-on before its rear end made contact with the Honda as it completed the turn.
The Toyota sustained heavy front-end damage, while the Honda had minor damage.
Officials said the Toyota was occupied by five individuals—two adults and three children.
All three children were transported to a nearby hospital, with one reported to have life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Honda, who was the sole occupant of that vehicle, was not injured.
Authorities are withholding the identities of those involved pending further investigation.
The incident remains under active investigation by the Union Police Department’s
Fatal Crash Team.
