A German man who carried out a large-scale fraudulent mail operation targeting victims with fake psychic services has been sentenced to federal prison in Newark, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer.

Georg Ingenbleek, 59, was sentenced to 70 months behind bars after pleading guilty to two counts of mail fraud before U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi.
Authorities said Ingenbleek had been a fugitive for years following his 2020 indictment before being apprehended in Bolzano in 2024. He was later extradited to the United States in May 2025 to face charges.
According to court documents, between 2011 and 2016, Ingenbleek orchestrated a scheme that involved sending mass mailings posing as letters from world-renowned psychics.
The solicitations falsely promised recipients personalized psychic services and items that would bring fortune, often claiming the services were free.
Investigators said victims were later sent fraudulent billing notices demanding payment—typically between $20 and $50—and threatening legal action if they failed to pay.
Through the scheme, Ingenbleek and his co-conspirators collected more than $13 million from victims.
In addition to his prison sentence, the court ordered Ingenbleek to forfeit $13,618,921.19 and imposed a three-year term of supervised release.

Federal authorities said the case highlights ongoing efforts to combat international fraud schemes that prey on vulnerable individuals.
