Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that left one person injured Sunday afternoon in the city’s South Ward.
Officers were dispatched just before 2:25 p.m. to the 80s block of Ludlow Place after receiving reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, units located an unidentified individual suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment. Their condition has not been immediately released.
The motive behind the shooting remains under active investigation. Authorities have not provided additional details at this time.
