Antoyane McCall, of Mays Landing, was sentenced on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, to three years in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.

The charges stem from an incident on March 19, 2025, when members of the Atlantic City Police Department observed McCall engaging in what appeared to be a drug transaction.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., officers witnessed McCall reaching into a plastic bag while an older woman simultaneously removed cash and held it toward him.

When McCall noticed police presence, he quickly placed the bag back into his satchel and attempted to walk away.

Detectives, clearly identified by police vests and badges, ordered him to stop. Instead, McCall fled on foot, running north on Tennessee Avenue before heading west on Atlantic Avenue toward the Renaissance Plaza area.

After a brief pursuit, McCall surrendered to officers.

Authorities reported that he was found in possession of a digital scale containing drug residue, quantities of heroin and fentanyl packaged for distribution, U.S. currency in various denominations, and a plastic bag containing cocaine, consistent with what officers initially observed.

The case was investigated by the Atlantic City Police Department.
