Authorities in Bergen County are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred overnight in Fairview.
According to preliminary information, police were dispatched just before midnight to the 300 block of Fairview Avenue after receiving reports of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from a severe neck wound.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later by medical personnel at the scene.
The investigation has been taken over by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, which is now working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As of 4:30 a.m. Friday, officials had not released additional details.
Authorities said the investigation remains active, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
