Newark Police Seek Woman for Questioning in Connection With Early Morning Shooting

Newark police are asking for the public’s help locating a woman wanted for questioning after a man was shot in the city’s North Ward earlier this year.

According to a statement released by the Newark Department of Public Safety, officers were dispatched to the area of Abington Avenue near Clifton Avenue at approximately 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, February 8, following reports of gunfire.

 

When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Officers rendered aid at the scene until EMS arrived and transported the victim to University Hospital for treatment. 

Authorities said the victim was listed in stable condition.

 

As the investigation continued, detectives identified Christina Guzman as a person they would like to question in connection with the shooting.
