According to police, the incident began on February 26, 2026, at approximately 6:42 a.m., when officers received a report of a road rage encounter on Seaview Drive.

Authorities said Alberto M. Balcazer, who was working as a ride-share driver at the time, later drove to the 500 block of Meadowlands Parkway to drop off a passenger.

Coincidentally, the other driver involved in the earlier dispute was employed at the same business location.

Police said Balcazer pulled his vehicle in front of the other driver’s car in the parking lot, where the two engaged in a verbal altercation.

During the dispute, Balcazer allegedly displayed what was described as a large caliber semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the victim before fleeing the scene.

Patrol officers and detectives with the Secaucus Police Department worked together to identify Balcazer’s vehicle.

Detectives later conducted surveillance at his residence in Linden and took him into custody upon his return home.

During a court-authorized search of the residence, investigators seized a .50 caliber Desert Eagle Magnum handgun along with hollow point ammunition, authorities said.

He was lodged in the Hudson County Jail pending court proceedings.
