Island Heights Man Charged with Narcotic Offenses

Authorities in Ocean County announced that on February 12, Thomas Koch, 60, of Island Heights, was charged with multiple narcotics offenses. 

Those charges include Possession of Less Than One Half Ounce of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Less Than One Half Ounce of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, OCPO officials said. 

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer stated that on February 12, in furtherance of an ongoing investigation, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office executed a court-authorized search warrant on Koch’s residence.

As a result, Detectives seized quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia indicative of illegal drug distribution, as well as electronic devices, OCPO officials say. 

A forensic examination of the electronic devices is being conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad, and additional charges may be forthcoming, according to Ocean County officials. 

Ocean County officials said that Koch was taken into custody and transported to the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
