Bloomfield Police are investigating a theft reported last month that occurred in the parking lot of a local business on Belleville Avenue.
According to a report from the Bloomfield Police Department, a complainant arrived at police headquarters on January 30, 2026, to report an incident that took place outside East West Market, located at 67 Belleville Avenue.
The complainant told officers that a man and a woman approached him while seated in a vehicle and asked for directions.
After he assisted, the female reportedly handed him three necklaces and a bracelet.
While placing one of the necklaces around his neck, investigators say the woman removed his own necklace without his knowledge.
The complainant did not realize his necklace was missing until the pair left the area. The stolen necklace was reported to be valued at approximately $10,000.
The incident remains under active investigation, and no further details were released at this time.
