A pedestrian was left critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on a busy Linden roadway Thursday night, authorities said.
According to the Linden Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Route 1 and Bacheler Avenue.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and found an unconscious and unresponsive person lying in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and was reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries. As of 4:30 a.m. Friday, the victim’s condition had not been confirmed.
Police temporarily shut down a portion of the roadway while officers investigated the crash.
No additional details have been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
