Police in Newark are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred in the city’s North Ward on Wednesday evening.
According to authorities, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a ShotSpotter device was activated in the area of Summer Avenue and Seventh Avenue, prompting officers to respond to the scene.
When police arrived, they located shell casings in the area.

After conducting a thorough search of the surrounding neighborhood, officers did not locate any victims, and no injuries were reported.
At this time, police have not identified a suspect or determined a motive for the shooting.
The incident remains under active and ongoing investigation.
