Authorities in Atlantic County announced that today, Naaron Reed, 50, from Galloway Township, pleaded guilty to second-degree aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim in front of the Honorable Joseph Levin, J.S.C.
The plea calls for a sentence of three years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to an 85% period of parole ineligibility pursuant to the No Early Release Act, ACPO officials say.
Atlantic County officials said that on February 16, 2025, Galloway Township Police Department officers responded to the Red Roof Inn & Suites in reference to a domestic violence assault.
When police arrived, they spoke to the victim, who advised that her husband, Reed, wrapped his arm around her neck, strangling her, ACPO officials say.
The victim explained that Reed threw her onto the floor, and she was able to escape to the hotel bathroom, where she called 911, ACPO officials stated.
According to Atlantic County officials, Reed was arrested on the scene. Sentencing is scheduled for April 10, 2026.
