Police are investigating an early-morning shooting reported Sunday in Newark’s Ironbound neighborhood.
The incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. in the 30 block of Jabez Street, where officers responded after receiving reports of shots fired.
When police arrived, they located evidence confirming a shooting had taken place, but no victims were found and no injuries were reported.
The suspect fled the area and remains at large, according to preliminary information.
No additional details have been released as the investigation remains active.
Sunday’s incident marks the fifth reported shooting in Newark since Christmas Day. None of the recent incidents have reportedly resulted in injuries.
