A serious pedestrian strike in Morris County left one person critically injured Wednesday evening, prompting a response from local police and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. in the 20s block of Pocono Road in Denville, where officers were called after reports of a person lying in the roadway.
Responding police and EMS crews arrived to find an unidentified individual unconscious and unresponsive with severe injuries.
First responders performed CPR at the scene before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities confirmed the person had been struck by a vehicle.
Police have launched an active and ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. No additional details were immediately available.
