One Person Killed in Overnight Crash on Route 208 in Fair Lawn

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has joined Fair Lawn Police in investigating a deadly overnight crash on Route 208, where at least one person lost their life, according to preliminary information.

Around 10:15 p.m., emergency responders rushed to the southbound lanes of NJ-208 near Saddle River Road after multiple 911 callers reported a serious crash. 

When officers arrived, they discovered a heavily damaged vehicle wedged beneath the overpass at that location.

 

Police immediately requested EMS and fire crews to the scene. 

One person was pulled from the wreckage and was pronounced dead a short time later.

 

The cause of the crash remains under active and ongoing investigation.
