A shooting in Ewing Township late Saturday left one person hospitalized in serious condition, according to preliminary reports.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1300 block of Sylvia Street after a shots-fired alert in the area.
When police arrived, they began investigating a possible connection to an earlier incident at a nearby Wawa, where the victim may have initially been struck.
The injured individual was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where they remain in serious condition. No update on the victim’s condition was immediately available.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified, but at this time, authorities have not confirmed a homicide investigation.
The motive for the shooting remains under an active and ongoing investigation.
No arrests have been made.
