Authorities in Bergen County announced the arrest of 45-year-old William B. MacGray, of Maywood, on aggravated assault and child abuse charges.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella stated the arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Maywood Police Department, under the direction of Chief Terence Kenny.
According to Bergen County officials, on Monday, November 3, the Maywood Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an incident of alleged child abuse that had occurred in Maywood.

BCPO officials say that an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Maywood Police Department revealed that William B. MacGray physically assaulted and abused a juvenile in Maywood, on or about Sunday, November 2.
On Monday, November 3, as a result of the investigation, William B. MacGray was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree aggravated assault, Bergen County authorities said.
Bergen County officials say on Tuesday, November 4, MacGray was located and arrested. MacGray was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, made a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, and was ordered released pending further court action.
