Authorities are investigating a shooting that left one person injured early Sunday morning after the victim arrived at University Hospital seeking treatment, officials said.
According to preliminary reports, the incident came to light shortly after 4 a.m. when hospital staff notified police that a male had entered the emergency room suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was reportedly dropped off by a private vehicle.
At this time, investigators have not confirmed where the shooting occurred.
However, witnesses reported hearing gunfire in the area of 11th Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets, less than a mile from the hospital.
Police are working to determine if that scene is connected to the injured victim.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional details were not immediately available.
