Newark authorities announced the arrest of a dozen individuals throughout September 2025 as part of the city’s ongoing effort to combat violent crime and remove dangerous offenders from local streets.
According to a statement released by Newark Police, the arrests were the result of coordinated work by the department’s Criminal Intelligence/Fugitive Section.
Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. praised the efforts, noting that the strategy to target wanted individuals continues to strengthen public safety across the city.
The following arrests were reported in September:
• Kevyn J. Araujo, 29, of Middletown, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, conspiracy, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
• Kaniyah R. Dolo, 18, of Belleville, was arrested on September 3 and charged with robbery, conspiracy, two counts of criminal mischief, and burglary.
• Zy-Mirr Wilson, 22, of Newark, was taken into custody on September 5 on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
• Victorya R. Ceolin, 29, of Jersey City, was arrested on September 10 on an outstanding warrant out of Hanover, Virginia.
• Stacey Davis, 58, of Newark, was arrested on September 11. He faces four counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and an outstanding warrant out of Elizabeth.
• Tarod Andrews, 37, of Newark, was arrested on September 22 and charged with robbery and harassment.
• Daishaun Mercer, 25, of Newark, was arrested on September 23 and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
• Quameen Bultron, 19, of Newark, was arrested on September 26. He faces three counts each of burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, and theft, as well as two counts each of auto theft and conspiracy.
• Tyrone G. Montgomery, 54, of Hillside, was arrested on September 26. He faces charges of robbery, conspiracy, criminal mischief, two counts of receiving stolen property, and multiple weapons offenses.
• Julian Montosa, 38, of Newark, was arrested on September 30 on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and theft.
• Thayna R. Sosa Cepeda, 27, of Kearny, was arrested on September 30 and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and theft.
• Travis Kelley, 50, of Paterson, was arrested on October 2. He faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, terroristic threats, and being a person prohibited from weapon possession.

“Our ongoing crime reduction strategy includes removing wanted individuals from our streets,” Director Miranda said.
“I am grateful for the commitment of the leaders and detectives of our Criminal Intelligence/Fugitive Section, who precisely located and safely apprehended each suspect.
