A pedestrian was seriously injured Monday night after being struck on Interstate 78 in Whitehouse, according to the New Jersey State Police.
Preliminary reports indicate the incident happened around 8 p.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 24.
Troopers arrived to find the victim down in the roadway and immediately requested EMS to the scene.

The injured person was treated on-site before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further care. Their current condition has not been released.
Troopers closed the right and shoulder lanes on I-78 while investigators worked at the crash site.
The investigation remains active, and no additional details were immediately available.
