A 22-year-old Orange resident died early Friday morning after his e-bike was struck by a car on Main Street, according to information released by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Officials identified the victim as Edwin Tuc Patricio, a cook at a restaurant in Montclair, was crossing into the westbound lane near Main Street around 3:15 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound.
Patricio was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 3:40 a.m., prosecutors said.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the car remained on the scene following the crash.
Neither the driver nor the passenger inside the vehicle sustained injuries.
As of Monday morning, the investigation remained active, and no charges had been filed.
