UPDATE: Woman Struck by NJ Transit Bus in East Orange

Authorities are investigating a late-night crash in East Orange that left a woman seriously injured after being struck by a New Jersey Transit bus early Wednesday morning.

 

According to information released by New Jersey Transit Police, the incident occurred at approximately 12:11 a.m. when a bus operating on the 94 line — on its final run from Bloomfield to Irvington Center — struck a female pedestrian near the intersection of South Clinton Street and Norwood Place.

The force of the collision reportedly had the vicitm pinned under the bus. 

 

In addition to the pedestrian, four passengers aboard the bus were also transported to a local hospital for evaluation, officials said.

 

New Jersey Transit Police confirmed the crash but referred further questions to the East Orange Police Department, which is leading the investigation and has not yet issued additional details.
