Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for a burglary that netted approximately $10,000 from a Dunkin’ Donuts on Sunday, August 24.

According to officials, officers responded around 9:30 p.m. to the 100 block of Bergen Street after receiving reports of a break-in at the fast-food shop.
When they arrived, they found the front glass door shattered, but the suspect had already fled.
Surveillance video showed the man forcing his way inside before heading to a back office, where he searched through drawers and cabinets.
Police said he eventually located cash inside a file cabinet and fled the scene after being confronted outside by a delivery driver who had just arrived.
The suspect is described as a light-brown skin male with a goatee.
He was last seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and black pants featuring red and white designs along both legs.

Director Miranda urges anyone with information about the suspect to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (695-8477).
