Jersey City Police Investigate Tuesday Night Gunfire on Woodward Street

Police in Jersey City are investigating a shots-fired incident that took place Tuesday night in the southern part of the city.

According to preliminary information, officers were dispatched to the area of 361 Woodward Street around 8:45 p.m. after reports of gunfire. 

When police arrived, they discovered multiple shell casings on the ground, indicating that shots had indeed been fired.

A thorough search of the surrounding area yielded no victims, and there were no immediate reports of injuries related to the incident. 

Authorities believe the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, with detectives canvassing the neighborhood for surveillance footage or witnesses who may have seen what happened.
