Authorities in East Orange are investigating a shooting that left a man injured late Tuesday night in the city’s Park Avenue corridor.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred just before 11:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Park Avenue, near the intersection of Munn Avenue.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.
Emergency medical personnel rushed the injured man to University Hospital in Newark for treatment. As of early Wednesday morning, officials had not released the full extent of his injuries.
Detectives from the East Orange Police Department are actively working to determine the motive behind the shooting.
No arrests have been reported at this time, and the suspect remains at large.
