A Newark man with a history of arrests across Essex County, including multiple shoplifting incidents, was taken into custody last week following a theft at a Walgreens in Bloomfield, according to information released by Bloomfield Township Police officials.
On July 23, 2025, police said officers responded to Walgreens at 17 Bloomfield Avenue after a store employee reported that a man had stolen laundry detergent worth approximately $100 and left without paying.

Detectives quickly located the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Mr. Jermaine Rabb of Newark, nearby and placed him under arrest.
According to officials Rabb was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing.
Police noted that Rabb has been arrested numerous times in Essex County and surrounding areas, including for similar shoplifting offenses.
